  • Is there a letter you’ve always wanted to write but didn’t dare?
  • Are there friends missing from your life who you want to reach out to?
  • What would you say in a letter to your younger self?

Program description

Letters can communicate emotions, explain actions, reveal secrets, and help to heal wounds. In our final writing program for 2026, Dr Sian Prior will join us to explore these therapeutic pleasures of ‘eipstolary’ (letter) writing.

In this three-week workshop, presented by the Vision Australia Library, we will look at some examples of published authors who have employed letter writing as a device. Together, we will analyse what makes a memorable missive.

With New Year’s resolutions to ‘find more time to catch up this year,’ slowly morphing into a dream.  The Vision Australia Library letter writing workshop provides the tools to revisit this resolution, the catalyst to reach out to family and friends, particularly those living interstate and abroad.
