In 2014 Vision Australia’s Digital Access team were asked to lend their expertise, along with other international leading authorities in the accessibility and inclusion space, to drive forward the concept of an International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP). Five years on we are very proud to have been named the Australasian founding member of the IAAP.

In case you are not aware, the IAAP is a not-for-profit membership-based organisation for individuals and organisations that are focused on accessibility, or are in the process of building their accessibility skills and strategies.

The association provides an international forum to network, share experiences and enrich knowledge. Through webinars and certification, accessibility professionals can develop and advance their careers, and organisations can learn how to integrate accessibility into their products and infrastructure.

“Any opportunity for people or organisations to come together and share or improve their knowledge around accessibility is a positive. Vision Australia is proud be a founding member of the IAAP,” Neil King, Vision Australia National Manager Digital Access, said.

“Through teams like Digital Access, Vision Australia plays a leading role in advocating for and educating people around the importance of accessibility. We look forward to further opportunities to do that through the IAAP,” Neil said.

Whether you are an expert in accessibility, or just starting to learn about inclusion, we would encourage you to look into joining the IAAP.
