Vision Australia is committed to supporting the blind and low vision community through the COVID-19 pandemic, while also keeping you safe.

We’ve made some temporary changes to allow us to do this. We’ve temporarily suspended face-to-face services, and as of 5pm Friday, April 3 you won’t be able to attend a Vision Australia location for the time being.

This doesn’t mean you can’t keep accessing our specialist blindness and low vision services and equipment.

Our team is ready to provide you with services via telehealth. This means you can use technology to connect and receive your regular Vision Australia services from the safety and comfort of your own home. All of our services are available to new and existing clients through telehealth.

If you’d like to continue accessing services via telehealth, or arrange for new services, call us on 1300 84 74 66. You can find out more about telehealth, including how we can help you get set up for free online at www.visionaustralia.org/services/telehealth.

Our Vision Store is still operating online at shop.visionaustralia.org or via phone on 1300 84 74 66 between 8:30am and 7pm Monday to Friday.

We’ve extended our returns policy from 30 days to 90 days and all purchases made online are now eligible for free shipping to help you get the technology and equipment you need. Unfortunately, we can’t offer these for sales through National Disability Insurance Scheme packages, the Department of Veterans Affairs or similar.

We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic is having a big impact on people’s day-to-day lives.

We’ve launched our free Check in and Chat Webinars, which will be held every Tuesday and Thursday. Find out about joining a Check in and Chat webinar at www.visionaustralia.org/checkinandchat.

We’ve also launched our COVID-19 support line to help you find and access the latest information and advice. Call us on 1300 88 70 58 from 8.30am – 7pm AEST Monday to Friday.

This is not an emergency resource, but our team are available to help you access information about Vision Australia services, other blindness and low vision supports, the latest government restrictions and advice, and other resources to help you stay safe and connected.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a situation we haven’t seen in Australia in living memory.

It means changes for Vision Australia, but what it doesn’t change is that we’re here to support you. Please contact us today if there is anything we can do for you.

Yours sincerely,
Ron Hooton
CEO, Vision Australia.
