For 78 years, people have been gathering in Melbourne to sing carols on Christmas Eve at Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight. The money it raises goes towards Vision Australia's Children's Services. Tickets are currently on sale now from Ticketmaster.

Rehersal night tickets will go on sale from Ticketmaster on December 9. Tickets are $20 and $10 for children.

Some of the children we support include: Max Goodfellow was just a few weeks old, his mum Kelly noticed something about her son's eyes didn't look quite right and she took him to get it checked. They were certainly not expecting to be told that Max was blind. Read Max's story . Trisha Ross is mum to two girls who have low vision. She is a busy working mum who owns her own accountancy firm. She says Vision Australia has been her lifeline.

This year, we are asking for the Australian public to Be The Light for children who are blind or have low vision by donating to Vision Australia, watching on the night, or buying a ticket. Here's our television advertisement that brought together 12 of our children's services kids.

Delta Goodrem confirmed for Carols by Candlelight

Delta Goodrem has confirmed she will be back for her third Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight on Christmas Eve! Delta performed at the 2007 and 2012 show and will be in Melbourne for Christmas thanks to her role in Cats, the musical. So far, she joins Silvie Paladino, Anthony Callea and Denis Walter in the line-up. Carols by Candlelight broadcasts on Christmas Eve on Channel Nine from 8pm.

Major sponsors for 2015

This year, Carols by Candlelight will be presented by Woolworths.

Woolworths Head of Sponsorship, Events and Properties, Karen Madden, said "We are delighted to partner with Vision Australia and this iconic event. Carols by Candlelight is one of Australia's longest-running fundraising events,

"Millions of Australians enjoy the event each year on Christmas Eve and it raises much-needed funding for support services for children who are blind or have low vision. We are looking forward to being part of an event that brings so much Christmas joy each year," she said.

Eastland Shopping Centre in Melbourne has also come onboard as a major sponsor and will be this year's live site. This will be the only live site, there won't be one at Federation Square or in Brisbane. Encourage your friends and family to come down on Christmas Eve if you live near Eastland.

Carols by Candlelight televised launch

Once again, Channel Nine's Today Show kicked off the build-up to Carols by launching the event at Eastland on December 2. Taylor Henderson, X Factor runner-up, was named a Carols by Candlelight Ambassdor and performed at the launch. We had one of our children there, Jack Baker, who had a ride on Santa's sleigh on camera. Pictured is Steve Jacobs talking to camera with Santa in his sleigh, client Jack Baker and a group of elves.
