Lesley has been volunteering for Vision Australia for just on two months but says that volunteering has always been a part of her life even as a little girl.

Lesley remembers helping to collect donations for a charity when she was just 5 years old.
Volunteering is something Lesley enjoys. She has felt drawn to the idea of volunteering and her current role with Vision Australia has been positive for both Lesley and the client.

Lesley's current role assignment is as a personal reader. This is a one on one role where Lesley helps a client to read notes for their Diploma in Massage.

Lesley was ideal for the role as she has also completed a Diploma in Massage. The two meet once a week at the Boronia Centre for around 2-3 hours each time.

The assistance Lesley provides to the client is invaluable. She has also helped to label an anatomy model for the client where her voice was recorded onto a bar code reader.

Lesley enjoys her weekly session with the client who is due to complete their Diploma in Massage in June/July. But the client and Lesley have been good companions and intend to stay in contact for coffee even when the course is completed!
