Vision Australia’s individual intensives give children and young people the opportunity to focus on their personal goals in a supportive environment outside the classroom.

Designed for those who need extra, targeted support, the program helps build essential skills such as verbal and non‑verbal communication, social confidence, self‑care, self‑advocacy, and gross and fine motor skills. Individual intensives are also well suited to school leavers preparing for independent living, further education or employment.

Each intensive is tailored to the individual, allowing children to strengthen skills they’ve been developing during the school term or explore new ones at their own pace. Support is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of specialists, including orthoptists, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, counsellors, early childhood specialist teachers and occupational therapists.

Available during the school holiday period, individual intensives provide an accessible, welcoming and highly personalised experience – one that can make a meaningful difference to a child’s confidence, independence and participation.
