Join like-minded adventurers to celebrate International White Cane Day.
Celebrating the achievements of people who are blind or have low vision and the symbol of Independence – the white cane – this event will include a preview of new infrastructure projects within Brisbane City as well as the chance to explore new equipment and technology and orientation and mobility strategies. You will also be able to learn more about achievements of some of our Vision Australia orientation and mobility peer mentors.
All travel days will require you to be of a moderate to high level of fitness. You are welcome to bring a companion if you wish. There will be the opportunity to stop and purchase lunch, but please remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, water, PPE and anything else you may need.
Travels Days may be covered by your NDIS plan, My Aged Care funding, or can be privately funded. Please contact us to discuss your payment options.
Bookings are essential as places are limited. Events will be guided by Australian Government guidelines regarding COVID-19 protocols and safety.
To book your spot, please email Bashir Ebrahim at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 07 3727 2345.
