The Vision Australia Library is delighted to invite Vision Australia clients and library members to its first author In Conversation event for 2021.
Author Marie Younan and co-author Jill Sanguinetti will discuss their recently released and evocative memoir of Marie’s life, A Different Kind of Seeing, now available through the Vision Australia Library.
Accidently blinded as a baby, Marie led a sheltered life as a child in Syria and as a refugee adult in Australia, until she learnt braille at the age of 33. With a new found language and community she gained the confidence and independence which allowed her life to truly blossom.
About the book
Marie is a highly engaging storyteller and her memoir has been described as inspirational, full of love and hope and hard to put down.
Marie and Jill will be in conversation with Bill Jolley, a leader in the blind community.
When: Date TBA at Vision Australia Kooyong, Victoria or via Zoom livestream from 6.15pm.
