The Vision Australia Library is delighted to invite Vision Australia clients and library members to its next author In Conversation event for 2021. This event will be in person at Kooyong with refreshments and canapes provided, and will be a not to miss event for book-lovers local to Kooyong in Victoria.

Author Marie Younan and co-author Jill Sanguinetti will discuss their evocative memoir of Marie’s life, A Different Kind of Seeing, now available through the Vision Australia Library.

Accidently blinded as a baby, Marie led a sheltered life as a child in Syria and as a refugee adult in Australia, until she learnt braille at the age of 33. With a new found language and community she gained the confidence and independence which allowed her life to truly blossom.

About the book

Marie is a highly engaging storyteller and her memoir has been described as inspirational, full of love and hope and hard to put down.

Marie and Jill will be in conversation with award winning author, Chloe Hooper.

When: May 19, 6.00pm (AEDT) at Vision Australia Kooyong, Victoria or via Zoom webinar from 6.15pm.

Registration for the in-person event at Kooyong is essential. Refreshments and canapes will be provided as we celebrate this title and hear from the authors.
