Australian marriage law postal plebiscite

Australians are being asked their view on whether or not the law should be changed to allow same sex couples to marry.

How to participate in the postal plebiscite

To participate in the postal plebiscite you must be enrolled with the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) by 6pm 24 August 2017.

The postal plebiscite process

The postal plebiscite will be conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the process is still being finalised.

We have already engaged with the ABS to ensure accessible options will be available for people who are blind or have low vision. We will send another communication about the accessible options when they become available.
