Registration is free and open to the general public.
Talk to Vision Australia’s specialist staff about ways to improve independence at home, increase your chance of finding employment, maximise education opportunities, and connect with others.
The event will also feature a range of seminar-style discussions. Topics include the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), MyAgedCare, the latest accessible online streaming services and health and fitness technology. How do I get there?
Drive: On-site parking available and a drop off a pick up zone is located in the car parking area. Entry to the car park via Darling St, Hamilton South.
Train: The closest train station is Hamilton. A shuttle bus will operate between Hamilton train station and the Open Day.
Drive: No on-site parking - drop off/pick up zone available next door at Queen Alexandra House, 347 Old Cleveland Road.
Train: Shuttle bus service available to and from Norman Park Train Station (Norman Park Station is more convenient than Coorparoo Train Station).
Bus: Route 203 and 204, bus stop Coorparoo Primary - 24. Route 222 and 200, bus stop Coorparoo Shops - 23 (a short walk to Vision Australia).
Free buses for Vision Australia clients:
If you are a Vision Australia client then you can hop on one of the free buses to the event.
Buses will only run on the Friday of the event, 9 October for Newcastle and 16 October for Brisbane.
Bus routes to Newcastle and return:
Route 1: Port Macquarie - Taree - Foster - Raymond Terrace - Newcastle Jockey Club.
Route 2: Singleton - Maitland - Newcastle Jockey Club.
Route 3: Gosford - Morisset - Wyong - Newcastle Jockey Club.
Bus routes to Coorparoo and return:
Route 1: Toowoomba - Coorparoo.
Route 2: Tweed Heads - Robina - Coorparoo.

Travel Grant worth $500
If you are a client of Vision Australia and live more than 200km from either Newcastle or Coorparoo, you can submit an application for a limited number of travel grants worth $500 that you can use towards your travel costs.
To submit your expression of interest, simply tell us in 30 words or less how adaptive technology has made, or could make a difference in your life.

The successful recipients will need to arrange and pay for their travel themselves and submit receipts to Vision Australia to then be reimbursed up to the value of $500.
