Vision Australia Study Group 2009

A study group for tertiary students will meet regularly at Vision Australia's Prahran centre.
This is the perfect opportunity to make sure that you are on top of your studies, to seek study advice and meet and assist or learn from other students with a vision impairment and share your experiences and interests.
The first session will focus upon tutorial discussions and note-taking but students are free to raise and discuss any concerns they have.
All current and prospective tertiary students who are blind or vision impaired are welcome. The study group is a great opportunity to:
- Feel more confident about your studies.
- Gain a better understanding of the tertiary environment.
- Learn about on and off-campus services.
- Meet other students who are blind or vision impaired.
- Develop a range of effective study skills.
All seminars held at Vision Australia 201 High Street Prahran from 1:30 - 4:00 pm on the third Wednesday of the month.

- 20 May - Writing for Academic Purposes
- 17 June - Exam Preparation
- 15 July - Course and Career Identification
- 19 August - VTAC and direct course application processes
- 16 September - Exam preparation and study strategies
- 21 October - Methods for reading using alternative formats
- 18 November - Where to from here? Transitioning to employment
These topics are a basis of discussion and may change, students are free to raise issues which are pertinent to their studies.
