Last week, former British Home Secretary the Right Honourable David Blunkett MP visited Vision Australia's headquarters at Kooyong.

During his visit Mr Blunkett learnt more about our range of services, including i-acess®.
As a self-confessed 'technophobe', Mr Blunkett showed a particular interest in Vision Australia's revolutionary information access program.

Following a demonstration, Mr Blunkett and Vision Australia's Chair, Dr Kevin Murfitt, hosted a lunch for staff, volunteers and clients where guests were given the opportunity to meet the British MP in person.

Mr Blunkett told guests he was impressed with the level of service Vision Australia provides its clients and looks forward to continuing to investigate ways of working together in the future.

Following lunch, Mr Blunkett was given the opportunity to spend some time with Maryanne Diamond to speak to her about her dual role as Vision Australia's General Manager International and Stakeholder Relations and President of the World Blind Union.

Before leaving our Kooyong centre, Mr Blunkett was interviewed on Vision Australia Radio by Stephen Jolley. This interview can be heard on the Around Vision Australia program this week.

Mr Blunkett concluded his busy day by attending a dinner put on in his honour by Vision Australia partners Myer. Hosted by Myer CEO Bernie Brookes, it was attended by special guests such as Jeffrey Browne, Executive Director Nine Network, and Professor Barry Jones AO.
