Thousands of people enjoy the event at the Myer Music Bowl each year.

Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight raises vital funds for Australian children who are blind or have low vision like two-year-old Emily.

When Emily was nine months old her parents, Rose and Matthew, were told she was blind due to Leber's congenital amaurosis.

Sound helps inform Emily about the world.

At first parents, Rose and Matthew, had no idea how they would raise a child who is blind in a visual world. However, with the help of Vision Australia, they came to realise that blindness need not be a barrier.

Emily is among hundreds of children across Australia to benefit from Vision Australia's wide range of services which are delivered thanks to generous community support.

Emily uses Vision Australia's sensory playroom to build vital skills she can use every day in the outside world. With support from Vision Australia's specialist staff and Feelix Library kits, she is also becoming familiar with braille - which will be her key to literacy.

Show your support for children like Emily and be part of the Christmas magic at Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight presented by Myer. By purchasing your ticket to this iconic event you are helping Vision Australia to open up a world of possibilities for hundreds of kids who are blind or have low vision.

Tickets are on sale 7 November and can be purchased through The Arts Centre on 1300 182 183. This magical night will be held on 24 December at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne.

Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight is proudly telecast by the Nine Network on December 24 at 8pm.

Vision Australia's CEO, Gerard Menses says, "Proceeds from Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight go towards our Children's Services. With your support we're able to help many more generations of children who are blind or have low vision to reach their full potential in life."

"Myer is proud to present Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight for the third year running. Christmas is a special time for all of us, and we are delighted to be able share in this wonderful event as we continue to uphold the great Myer tradition of community engagement and philanthropic support," says Bernie Brookes, Chief Executive Officer, Myer.
