Independent Living Services

Vision Australia provides training and advice that helps make light work of everyday tasks.
Vision Australia assists people who are blind or have low vision to find practical solutions to enable individuals to live independently in their home, workplace or community setting.
Specialist staff advise people how to make the most of their remaining vision as well as other senses like touch, hearing and smell.

Community Aged Care Packages
Vision Australia provides Community Aged Care Packages (CACPs) in Southern Metropolitan Region and the Loddon Mallee Region of Victoria.
CACPs are individually planned and coordinated packages of care tailored to help older Australians remain living independently in their own homes. They are funded by the Australian Government to provide some of the more complex care needs of older people.
The types of services that may be provided as part of the package include:
- Personal care
- Social support
- Transport to appointments
- Home help
- Meal preparation
- Gardening
To receive a CACPs package people need to be assessed as eligible by an Aged Care Assessment Team.
