Welcome from Peter Butler, Network Manager, Vision Australia Radio

I recently moved down from the Gold Coast to Victoria to take on the role of Manager of Vision Australia Radio.

It's exciting to be part of such a great organisation and I look forward to working with our team to shape the network's future.

I am slowly but surely meeting our Vision Australia Radio volunteers and quickly getting to understand the nuances of this unique service.

We are lengthening some programs this winter, including Today in Focus with Arthur Higgins for three hours from 4pm.

This gives us time to look at what's happened in the weekday news world, with a 5.50pm stock market summary.

The Science program, which is now called The Uncertainty Principle, has moved out to a full hour on Tuesday evenings.

New programs are also starting up. Planes Trains and Automobiles covers exactly those topics at 9pm on Thursday while Don't Hold Back on Wednesday at 8.30pm takes in views, news and music with a focus on youth.

This program used to run on our Geelong station only, but has now been extended to our entire network.

Weekend Magazine will run for three hours from 3pm on Saturday afternoons - an ideal time to sit back and listen to what the weekend newspaper magazine supplements are on about!

We are continually getting feedback from our volunteers and listeners and we listen to all input. I'm happy to hear your opinions and you can call our comment line on (03) 9864 9366 any time of day or night or email var.melbourne@visionaustralia.org.

There may be other changes to the schedule as we go along but we will let you know in advance of those changes.

Enjoy the schedule and the great programs provided by the Vision Australia Radio team.
