Community involvement is an essential part of Vision Australia's fundraising activities. By holding your own fundraiser, you get to have fun and contribute to a worthwhile cause - enabling Vision Australia to provide life changing services to tens of thousands of children and adults who are blind or have low vision. It is a rewarding way for community groups, schools, workplaces, clubs and individuals to make a difference.
How to start
Step 1
Choose what type of fundraising activity or event you would like to organise. Read our Community Fundraising Ideas guide (Word, 993KB) for some great fundraising ideas and tips on how to get started. There are so many types of fundraising activities to choose from that you can turn almost anything into a fundraiser!
Step 2
Read our Community Fundraising Guidelines (Word, 1.2MB). These guidelines have been developed to assist individuals, community groups and businesses understand the Community Fundraiser's responsibilities when conducting a community fundraising activity or event to benefit Vision Australia.
Step 3
Complete and submit a Community Fundraising Registration Form (Word, 333KB) to register your fundraising activity or event with Vision Australia. Submit your form to the Community Fundraising Co-ordinator at fundraisingevents@visionaustralia.org for approval.
Step 4
When your fundraising activity or event is approved, Vision Australia will send you notification by post, including your Authority to Fundraise letter, confirming your legal 'authority to fundraise' on behalf of Vision Australia, your fundraising Identification Badge and your Community Fundraising Toolkit. The Toolkit will include tips on how to run a successful fundraising activity or event as well as copies of Income, Expenditure and Donation Forms.
