Our audio description service brings shows to life for theatre-goers who are blind or have low vision.
Vision Australia provides information on a variety of upcoming events which may be of interest to:
- people who are blind or have low vision
- staff, friends, family and colleagues
- the general public
Event types
Vision Australia Events
These events are organised by Vision Australia and may include fundraising and recreational activities.
Fundraising Committee Events
These events are hosted by auxillary groups, volunteers committees and 'Friends of Vision Australia' teams. They are mostly fundraising events.
Audio Described theatre and opera
Our audio description service complements the theatre experience by offering live descriptions of a play's visual elements. A team of trained Vision Australia volunteers provides the commentary, which listeners can access through a small radio receiver and single earpiece.
Other Events
These events are not organised by Vision Australia, however clients, friends and family may be interested in participating. Please contact the organisers directly for further information.
