Introduction
Our full day workshop will help you to make your online information and services accessible. You will be introduced to the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and the different ways people use the web. Then learn the techniques to identify common accessibility problems and confidently address specific accessibility issues.

Overview
This workshop will help you to:
- learn about common accessibility problems with websites
- understand accessibility methods for (X)HTML and CSS based on the recommendations of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and Vision Australia's best practice
- confidently address specific accessibility issues and devise optimal solutions for links, forms, semantic mark up, scripting, images, Acrobat and PDFs, multimedia, text, and navigation
- increase awareness of the need to design for special needs, including assistive technologies such as screen readers for people with visual impairments, and keyboard-only navigation
You will be provided with useful online and print web accessibility tips and resources so you can implement many solutions immediately after the workshop

A basic knowledge of web design techniques, including HTML, is needed to get full value from the content of this workshop. However the workshop is based on conceptual understanding rather than detailed code implementation
