Making a Difference Award

Hog's Breath Café Marketing Manager, Greg Miller accepted a Making A Difference Award in 2008. Hog's Breate cafés across Australia provides people who are blind or have low vision with accessible versions of their menus so that they can enjoy an independent dining experience.
These prestigious awards are presented to local business, organisations or individuals who has shown outstanding support for people who are blind or have low vision in their community.
They are a recognition of best practice for considering the needs of people who are blind or have low vision.
In particular the nominee will have developed a practical solution for an everyday challenge, enabling better access and participation in local communities for people who are blind or have low vision.
Examples of making a difference include:
- a local café providing its menu in alternate formats
- an organisation employing a person who is blind or has low vision
- a local supermarket installing tactile markings
